Law & Gambling II: What is duty of care in gambling? Legal and ethical obligations

Professor Blaszczynski is a Professor of Clinical Psychology, University of Sydney; a Co-Director of the University of Sydney’s Gambling Research Unit; and the Director of the Gambling Treatment Centre. He is a researcher and clinical psychologist with a long history of involvement in treatment and clinical research covering a range of impulse control disorders, in particular, pathological gambling.
Becky Harris is a recognized expert on gaming policy and regulation, legislative affairs, and workplace sexual harassment prevention. Harris is often called upon nationally to discuss discuss policy and regulatory issues relating to legal sports wagering. As an academic fellow with an emphasis in the study of sports betting, Harris collaborated with stakeholders to finalize the formation, launch, and first convening of the U.S. Sports Betting Forum, an outlet designed to provide a neutral forum in which stakeholders can convene to discuss policy and regulatory issues relating to legal sports wagering.
Sascha Callaghan is a lawyer and lecturer in health and engineering law and ethics at the University of Sydney Law School, and Associate Director in the Education (Enterprise and Engagement Portfolio. Her research covers a variety of issues in health and engineering regulation. Sascha also has a broad interest in engineering, future of education and future of work, and is currently working on large scale strategic education project as part of the University’s curriculum transformation for 2020.
