Formed in the beautiful seaside city of Newport, Oregon as the Blazers, Mr. Lucky (Mike Parker) & The Gamblers would merge with members of Portland bands the Rogues and Stingrays to become Oregon’s top band. “Take A Look at Me” was produced by Bob Holden and Don Gallucci and would cause enough excitement to get picked up by Dot Records. In time, many of Portland’s top musicians would play with the Gamblers. Their appearances in the Puget Sound area in 1966 are fondly remembered.
